Dalle migliaia di chilometri in sella alla sua inseparabile Harley Sportster fino alle vette dell'Himalaya, Deimantė ci racconta il suo amore per le moto "pure" e il suo grande sogno: un viaggio epico dal Regno Unito al Giappone in sella ad un chopper costruito interamente da lei.

- Parlaci un po' di te e del tuo rapporto con il mondo delle moto
Deimantė: Sono Deimantė, meglio conosciuta come @Tomboy_a_bit. Sono una motociclista, creo le mie moto e creo contenuti motociclistici a tempo pieno. Le moto sono entrate nella mia vita durante un periodo di profondo cambiamento personale, quando stavo scegliendo la libertà e l'indipendenza rispetto ai legami e alle aspettative degli altri. Guidare non è mai stato una questione di velocità o di immagine per me, si trattava di reclamare il controllo su me stessa e la mia vita. La prima volta che ho guidato da sola, ho capito che questo non era solo un hobby, era un luogo a cui appartenevo.
- Descrivi il tuo giro in moto preferito. Che tipo di scenario trovi più avvincente?
Deimantė: I miei giri preferiti sono strade con lunghe curve e rettilinei ininterrotti. Il panorama intorno conta meno della strada stessa, mi piace mettermi alla prova tecnicamente, ma senza eccessi. Il "flow" è tutto per me, e ad essere sincera, scelgo sempre il bel tempo per uscire in moto rispetto al freddo o alla pioggia, quando posso.
- Raccontaci la tua strada o il tuo itinerario preferito in moto.
Deimantė: Questa risposta è difficile, perché sono stata incredibilmente fortunata. Dalle strade proprio dietro l'angolo nell'Essex, dove vivo, che sono molto care al mio cuore, fino alle soleggiate strade di montagna in tutta Europa, ci sono davvero tante strade che amo. Ma se stai cercando qualcosa di veramente indimenticabile, e vuoi avventurarti anche in viaggi molto impegnativi, allora consiglio un viaggio estremo come quello che ho fatto recentemente nell'Himalaya. Quei viaggi in moto rimangono con te, impressi nella memoria per sempre.
- Che moto hai nel tuo garage?
Deimantė: Nel mio garage c'è la mia prima moto, una Harley-Davidson Sportster con quasi 50.000 miglia, tutte fatte da me. Le mie moto personalizzate sono attualmente sparse in vari workshop, ma saranno presto pronte per la stagione. Di solito ho anche una o due moto della stampa in prestito, che possono essere assolutamente qualsiasi cosa. E insieme a tutto questo, c'è un nuovo progetto nel mio garage, una Husqvarna Svartpilen 801 a cui dedicherò un imminente progetto di personalizzazione.
- Il luogo che vorresti visitare o il viaggio che vorresti fare in sella ad una moto?
Deimantė: Un sogno mi gira in testa da anni: guidare dal Regno Unito al Giappone. Un giorno lo farò! È in cima alla mia lista delle avventure in moto da fare, idealmente sul chopper hardtail che sto costruendo.
- Mettere il casco è un rituale per ogni motociclista. Cosa ti passa per la mente quando lo indossi?
Deimantė: Dipende dal giro. Se sto guidando per lavoro, recensendo una moto, la mia mente è concentrata sulla pianificazione del percorso, della giornata e dei contenuti che devo catturare. Ma se è un giro di piacere, non penso affatto. Spengo tutto. Tutto ciò che esiste è la strada ed essere presente e consapevole di me stessa in quel momento. Questo è il mio "zen mode", e sono i miei giri preferiti.
- Il modello o la tipologia di moto che preferisci?
Deimantė: Sono attratta da moto ruvide e pure, con motori e meccaniche che richiedono rispetto. Moto senza troppa elettronica, che mi ricordano quanto guidare sia un dialogo con la propria moto, non una scorciatoia per andare semplicemente veloci. Le moto più pure affinano la mia consapevolezza e migliorano la mia connessione con il mezzo meccanico che sto guidando.
- La moto più bella che tu abbia mai guidato, o che vorresti guidare?
Deimantė: Molte delle moto più memorabili che ho guidato sono state moto classiche o moto personalizzate. Sono piene di carattere, spesso impegnative e a volte veramente esigenti da guidare. Ma è proprio ciò che amo in una moto. Detto questo, credo che il mio giro in moto più memorabile debba ancora arrivare: guidare una moto che ho costruito io stessa. C'è qualcosa di profondamente significativo in quella connessione, conoscere ogni bullone, ogni decisione progettuale, e poi portare questo sogno su strada. Questo per me è lo spirito più vero, che mi fa sentire orgogliosa come motociclista.

We are thrilled to host Deimantė, known to many as @Tomboy_a_bit. She is a pure rider and puts her hands on motorbikes as a builder. For Deimantė, motorcycles have never been only about image and style; they are a tool for reclaiming control over her life and independence.
From the thousands miles on her trusted Harley Sportster to the peaks of the Himalayas, Deimantė shares her love for "raw" bikes, and her ultimate dream: an epic journey from the UK to Japan on a chopper built entirely by her own hands.
- Introduce yourself and share the story of your journey into the world of motorcycles. What sparked your interest?
Deimantė: I’m Deimantė, also known as Tomboy-a-bit. I’m a motorcycle rider, motorcycle builder and a full time motorcycle content creator. Motorcycles entered my life during a period of deep personal change, when I was choosing freedom and independence over others expectations. Riding was never about speed or image for me, it was about reclaiming control. The first time I rode alone, I realised this wasn’t just a hobby, it was a place where I belong.
- Describe your favourite motorcycle ride. What type of scenery do you find most exciting?
Deimantė: My favourite rides are long, curvy, uninterrupted roads. The scenery matters less than the road itself, as long as it challenges me technically, but not dangerously. Flow is everything. And I won’t lie, I’ll always choose comfortable weather over cold or rain when I can.
- Share your best recommendation for a must-visit road or destination for motorcycle enthusiasts. Why is this place so special for you?
Deimantė: That’s a hard one, because I’ve been incredibly lucky. From the roads just around the corner from where I live in Essex, which are very close to my heart, to sunny mountain roads across Europe, there are so many. If you’re looking for something truly unforgettable, I’d also recommend more challenging trips, like the one I recently did in the Himalayas. Those rides stay with you long after you’re home.
- Take us into your garage. What motorcycle is parked there, and how do you use it? Is it for short rides or your trusted companion for epic journeys?
Deimantė: In my garage is my first bike, a Harley-Davidson Sportster with nearly 50,000 miles, all of them done by me. My custom builds are currently scattered across workshops, but they’ll be ready for the season soon. I usually also have one or two press bikes on loan, which can be absolutely anything. And alongside all that, there’s a new project in garage, an upcoming Husqvarna Svartpilen 801 build.
- Dream destinations await. If you could hop on your motorcycle and explore any place in the world, where would you go next?
Deimantė: One dream has been rolling around in my head for years: riding from the UK to Japan. One day, I will do it. That’s at the very top of my adventure list, ideally on the hardtail chopper I’m building.
- Putting on the helmet is a ritual for every rider. What goes through your mind when you gear up, start your bike, and hit the road?
Deimantė: It depends on the ride. If I’m riding for work, reviewing a bikE, my mind is focused on planning the route, the day and the content I need to capture. But if it’s a pleasure ride, I don’t think at all. I switch everything off. All that exists is the road and being present in the moment. That’s my zen mode, and those are my favourite rides.

- Do you have a preferred motorcycle model or type? How does it contribute to improving your riding experience?
Deimantė: I’m drawn to raw, mechanical bikes that demand respect and input. Bikes without too much electronic interference remind me that riding is a dialogue, not a shortcut. They sharpen my awareness and deepen my connection with the machine.
- Share the story of the coolest and most unconventional motorcycle you've ever had the pleasure of riding. What made it memorable?
Deimantė: Many of the most memorable bikes I’ve ridden have been classics or custom builds. They’re full of character, often challenging, and sometimes genuinely demanding to ride. But that’s exactly what I love. That said, I believe my most memorable ride is still ahead of me: riding a motorcycle I built myself. There’s something deeply meaningful about that connection, knowing every bolt, every decision and then taking it onto the road. For me, that’s what motorcycling is really about.
